PCVP is a corporate joint venture between a top-tier US single family office and Posaidon Capital AG. The partnership has been set up design, implement and manage high integrity nature-based carbon and biodiversity programmes to deliver additional positive impacts for nature, climate and people. Jointly, we are dedicated to building PCVP into the world’s leading technical advisory and financial solutions firm for large scale-conservation and restoration areas of global climate and biodiversity significance by 2030.

Matthew McLuckie

Nature-based Solutions Partner and board member

With almost 20 years of corporate finance and nature investment experience, Matthew McLuckie is PCVP’s NbS Partner. He leverages his expertise in converging institutional and private capital with investments delivering a positive climate, nature and biodiversity impact.

Mr. McLuckie is currently a Co-Managing Partner at Posaidon Capital AG, a globally leading, nature-focused investment and advisory boutique. He has successfully advised and structured investments across 30 countries in the Americas, Africa and Europe. Mr. McLuckie has a long track record in designing and managing natural capital and conservation-based debt and equity transactions. He has also applied natural capital valuations to large-scale land assets in Africa.

Mr. McLuckie has previous finance experience at Conservation Capital, Credit Suisse and EFG Securities. He has lead-authored several thought leadership pieces on how fixed income, public equities, mutual funds and ETFs are exposed to climate, planetary boundary and nature-related risks.

Mr. McLuckie holds an undergraduate Masters degree in geography from the University of Edinburgh.

Sascha Lafeld

Sascha Lafeld

SENIOR ADVISOR TO BOARD

As an entrepreneur and serial-founder, Mr. Lafeld brings more than 20 years of experience in the voluntary carbon and green energy markets to PCVP,  having worked with top-tier corporations, financial institutions, and international organizations to develop and implement carbon reduction & carbon offsetting strategies and carbon project portfolios.

At PCVP,  Mr. Lafeld serves as a Senior Advisor to the Board of PCVP. His main responsibility is to support PCVP’s strategic and operational development.

Mr. Lafeld has previous finance and climate policy experience from Dresdner Bank and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Mr. Lafeld holds a PhD in Economics and Politics from the University of Münster.

James Smith

Nature-based Solutions Director

With 15 years of project development experience, Dr. James Smith leads PCVP’s technical work as NbS Director. He leverages his expertise as a tropical forest ecologist and impact investing specialist in the fields of natural climate solutions and AFOLU carbon project development to execute on PCVP’s portfolio.

Dr. Smith is currently Head of NbS Carbon at Posaidon Capital AG, a globally leading, nature-focused investment and advisory boutique. He has previous industry experience as at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Mirova Natural Capital, Fauna & Flora International, and IUCN.

Dr. Smith has in depth-experience with carbon and biodiversity project development to VCS, CAR and Plan Vivo standards in Latin America, West Africa and Southeast Asia. He led the multi-stakeholder industry forum at the Natural Climate Solutions Alliance whilst at WBCSD and has supported the continuous improvement and development of the market as a member of NCS Alliance’s Technical Advisory Group, Verra’s Blue Carbon Expert Working Group and VERRA’s Jurisdictional Nested REDD+ Stakeholder Working Group. Dr. Smith is also actively contributing to the developing biodiversity crediting market as technical lead for a pilot project under VERRA’s SD VISta standard Nature Framework.

Dr. Smith holds a B.A. in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford, a MRes in Ecology and Environmental Management from the University of York and a PhD in Tropical Forest Ecology from ETH Zurich.

Sarah-Rosenstock

Sarah Rosenstock

Senior Advisor to the Board

Ms. Rosenstock supports PCVP as external consultant on compliance and other organizational matters. She is a seasoned expert in the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) and organizational development. With extensive experience in carbon credit sales, Ms. Rosenstock is adept at navigating the complexities of climate finance.

Ms. Rosenstock specializes in developing innovative strategies to enhance company sustainability efforts, streamlining internal processes, and driving organizational growth. Her deep understanding of market standards, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building makes her a valuable asset in building resilient, impact-driven organizations.

Ms. Rosenstock holds an M.A. in Art History, American Studies and Law from LMU Munich.

Robin Stoffers

Senior Advisor NBS Project Development

Mr. Stoffers supports PCVP as external consultant with the selection and development of NbS projects. He is an experienced specialist in the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) and carbon project development. With a strong background in project design, feasibility assessment, and market compliance, Mr. Stoffers has contributed to the successful development and certification of numerous carbon offset projects.

His expertise includes land-based sequestration, stakeholder engagement, and navigating complex standards and methodologies. Mr. Stoffer’s strategic insights and technical knowledge help unlock the full potential of sustainability projects, ensuring they deliver meaningful environmental impact and market value.

Mr. Stoffers holds a degree in Geography from the University of Augsburg.

Paolo Pasquairello

Paolo Pasquariello

NBS Technical carbon advisor

With 10 years of experience, Paolo Pasquariello is a Carbon Technical Specialist at PCVP.

Through his technical knowledge in the field of natural resources management and conservation, he leverages his community-led project implementation and development expertise to develop tailor-made and impactful NBS projects for the PCVP’s portfolio.

Mr. Pasquariello has hands-on experience in project implementation and development for conservation and rural development in Sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, he spent over 3 years engaging and leading pastoral communities in Northern Tanzania to monitor and improve rangelands’ natural resources management by applying remote sensing and spatial analysis techniques. 

Mr. Pasquariello worked on projects funded by the main international development agencies EU and USAID as well as collaborating with a blend of scientific partners such as The University of York, The Nature Conservancy, WCS and CIRAD. Mindful that humans and nature need impactful and long-lasting tools to thrive again, he then started his journey in the AFOLU carbon market by technically leading and managing NBS carbon project development and feasibility studies for Revegetation and Reforestation, Blue Carbon and REDD+ in East Africa and DRC under VCS and Gold Standard. He deeply believes in carbon credits as powerful tools to improve the communities’ livelihoods through which, let nature be restored and flourish.

Mr. Pasquariello holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science, an M.Sc. in Environmental Sustainability from the Polytechnic University of the Marche, and a post-graduate specialisation in GIS from the University of Camerino.

Ellery Worth

Senior data architect

With over 25 years of experience working on landscape-level conservation, Ellery Worth is PCVP’s Senior Data Architect.

Born and raised in Bophuthatswana, southern Africa, Mr. Worth has been a passionate advocate for landscape conservation and science-driven landscape management his entire life. Holding an honors degree in wildlife management, he has worked across southern Africa, sharing his experience and expertise in managing natural systems at scale. Mr. Worth is known for his distinctive out-of-the-box thinking for finding tangible solutions to today’s practical conservation challenges. He strongly believes in the philosophy of collaboration, asserting that working together with like-minded entities is the key to effective conservation. Mr. Worth also firmly believes in using well-thought-out data for the purpose of informed decision-making, ensuring that conservation strategies are both effective and sustainable.

For the past decade, Mr. Worth has played a crucial hands-on role in designing and establishing the Karingani Game Reserve in southern Mozambique from its inception. Coordinating with local and national stakeholders to develop effective wildlife management, anti-poaching, and landscape-level conservation strategies. Additionally, he was responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders as well as collaborations withing the conservation community, securing grant funding, and developing comprehensive security, conservation and community engagement strategies for the reserve.

Dave Bowden

Africa Director

David Bowden is a seasoned project and portfolio manager with over two decades of international experience spanning humanitarian operations, construction, security, and military leadership. A PRINCE2-certified professional, he currently serves as country manager for PCVP in Zambia combined with his role as CEO of Kasempa Lunga Luswishi Game Management Area where PCVP are currently setting up a project.

David’s career includes pivotal roles in Ethiopia, Pakistan, South Sudan, Zambia, and high-threat environments such as Iraq and Afghanistan. His expertise encompasses strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, infrastructure delivery, and operational leadership in complex and conflict-affected settings. A former British Army Captain with the Royal Gurkha Rifles, he holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Natal and a BSc (Hons) in Physical Geography from the University of Liverpool.

Known for his calm leadership and people-first approach, David has built and managed diverse teams, delivered multimillion-dollar projects under pressure, and consistently driven impact in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

Matthew Jordan

NBS technical carbon advisor

With 10 years of experience in forest conservation as an environmental engineer and agroforestry project developer in Africa, Matthew Jordan leads the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) project pipeline at PCVP. His previous roles include Director of Sustainable Development at Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique and lead consultant on numerous NbS projects, including the USAID-SPEED Mozambique REDD+ Policy Gaps Analysis and TNC Angola Community Forest Carbon Project Development.

Mr. Jordan understands the NbS project development process from the perspectives of an implementer, policy analyst, and project developer, with a focus on the Sub-Saharan Africa context. He led the design and development of a large-scale jurisdictional REDD+ project in one of the most complex landscapes in Southern Africa, overseeing all aspects of project feasibility, from community engagement and government authorizations to finance negotiations. Passionate about nature tech solutions, Mr. Jordan is involved in two startups: RAMO Technologies, a platform for NbS project origination and data analytics, and Elrepel, a biodiversity monitoring solution aimed at improving human-wildlife coexistence. 

Mr. Jordan holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, an MSc in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BSc in Civil Engineering and Mathematical Sciences from Portland State University.

Mikael Andren

Board member

Mikael Andren is PCVP’s Investment Partner. Mr. Andren is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of a single family office. He sits on the Board of many of the Family’s investment holdings and operating companies, including Green’s Ledge Renewable Holdings and Blueshift Asset Management among other companies.

Mr. Andren is deeply involved in philanthropic causes and holds various roles across a wide range of conservation and community development causes, including the African Community & Conservation Foundation (ACCF) and the Pure Edge Foundation.  Prior to becoming President of the single family office, Mr. Andren held roles as a private equity professional with MMC Capital and a mergers and acquisitions professional with the former Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette.

Mr. Andren holds an MBA from Columbia University.

Nick Tims

Board member

With over 35 years of capital markets experience, Nick Tims serves as a PCVP Board member. Mr. Tims is a dedicated expert in nature finance and nature-focused asset ,anagement, with extensive experience in structuring and managing nature-based solutions also within the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM).

He specializes in developing innovative financial instruments, investment strategies, and project portfolios that promote biodiversity, land restoration, and climate resilience. Mr. Tims’ deep market understanding and strategic approach enable clients to maximize the environmental and financial value of their natural assets, supporting sustainable development and impactful climate action.

Mr. Tims has sat on the board of a number of leading African conservation NGOs (e.g. Tusk, Luwire Wildlife Conservancy) and has been involved in African conservation for over 20 years. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.

Paul Milton

board member

With 40 years of experience in international real estate working in collaboration and on behalf of governments, impact investors, national parks and NGOs, Paul Milton is PCVP’s Strategy Partner. He leverages his expertise in developing innovative and measurable investment models in conservation and global natural resource management.

Mr. Milton is also the founder of Milton Group LLC US, pursuing a new approach to tourism investment built on measurable social and environmental impact. In addition, he is also a co-founder of One Planet digital sustainability platform; member of the board of Hart Howerton LLC New York and San Francisco; and co-founded sustainable design firm Sherwood Design Engineers LLC New York and San Francisco.

Mr. Milton acts as an advisor to various governments and conservation organizations, including the Rwandan Development Board. He has collaborated on sustainable conservation programs with Tusk, Peace Parks Foundation, Impact Observatory, Harvard, Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Royal African Society.

Mr. Milton is a catalyst, aligning people with common interests to collaborate and integrate natural and social assets to maximize investor balance sheet values, protect environments and integrate community upliftment.

Colleen Dodman

With over 30 years of tax, structuring, financial management and international operations experience, Colleen Dodman is PCVP’s Finance Partner. She leverages her experience managing complex investments across conservation, eco-tourism, and real estate projects.

She is currently an Executive Director of a single family office where she oversees and manages the Tax and Philanthropic groups within her role, as well as a substantial portfolio of impact investments across Africa. She has been instrumental in the portfolio’s formation and evolution over the past two decades and is deeply committed to advancing community empowerment and conservation initiatives, driven by a profound passion for fostering sustainable development in the region.

Ms. Dodman is a founding member and President of the African Community and Conservation Foundation. She is an active board member of Students First NY, as well as Friends of the Peace Parks Foundation. She also works closely with many other U.S. and foreign non-profits.

Ms. Dodman is a NYS Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Accounting from Pace University.

Paul Ehrenreich

Operations Partner

With over 10 years of financial management and international operations experience, Paul Ehrenreich is PCVP’s Operations Partner. He leverages his expertise to manage complex investments across conservation, eco-tourism, and real estate projects.

Mr. Ehrenreich is also currently the CFO-Africa for a single family office. In that role, Mr. Ehrenreich is responsible for the financial and operational oversight of several foreign impact investments including in the hospitality and real estate space as well as working with not-for-profits and foundations across several African countries. He has also worked on the structuring and financing of several impact investment transactions.

Mr. Ehrenreich is Certified Public Account (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The College of New Jersey.
